Jon Jones, who is the number one ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC, recently withdrew from the UFC 295 where he was scheduled to fight one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, Stipe Miocic, to defend his heavyweight title, but that won’t be happening this year as Jon Jones, while sparring, suffered a serious injury in which he badly injured his tendon, which connects his pectoral muscle to the bone, and according to UFC president Dana White, he will undergo surgery and would be out of the octagon for about 8 months. They were scheduled to fight in the main event, but now there is a slight change in the main and co-main events.
Now at UFC 295, the co-main event, which was scheduled to happen between Alex Pereira and Jiří Procházka for the light heavyweight title, has now moved to the main event of the UFC 295, and the co-main event of the UFC 295 will feature Russian powerhouse Sergie Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title. Sergie Pavlovich vs. Tom Aspinall for the heavyweight title is a good move to save the UFC 295, though fight fans would miss Jon Jones for the next 8 months. Until then, they would see either Sergie Pavlovich or Tom Aspinall as the heavyweight champion.
Jon Jones won the UFC heavyweight title after making a comeback in the UFC. He and Ciryl Gane fought for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 285, in which, showing a dominant performance, Jon Jones beat Ciryl Gane in the very first round of the fight by submission. Since then, fight fans have been waiting to see him in the octagon, but unfortunately, he won’t be seen anytime soon inside the cage.
