Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz, and Dhruv Jurel’s heated argument with Baristow disrespects Cricket!
The India and England series came to an end after India clinched the series by 4-1, but the last phase of the match did not go in a good way as Johnny Bairstow was involved in a heated argument with the young guns of India Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, and Dhruv Jurel.
It was an amazing test series by the Indian side. After losing the first match of the series and then coming back with winning the last four matches, it clearly shows the England team that their Bazball does not work in the Indian condition. However, this team’s pitches were not rank turners like before when England came to play, but on the surprising side, it did assist the pace bowlers in getting some seam movement from the pitch and was better for the batters who scored lots of runs in the series.
Jonny Bairstow: “What did you say to Jimmy (Anderson) about retiring or getting dropped and he got you out after that?”
Shubman Gill: “So what, it was after my 100. He can get me out after a 100. how many (runs) have you got here?”
Jonny Bairstow: “How many you scored when the ball swung?”
Dhruv Jurel: “Jonny bhai easy!”
Sarfaraz Khan: “Thode se runs kya bana diya, jyada uchal raha hain (scored a few runs today and jumping too much).”
It is good to have aggression and attitude to spit back if someone does to you in cricket, but players should keep many other factors in mind. The first one is to respect the other one, which the young Indian did not do in the last match.
Yes, it was Bairstow who started it, but Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, and Dhruv Jurel were settling in the Indian side where, whereas Baristow was playing his 100th test match, which is a great achievement. Not to forget, when India went to England in 2022, it was Jonny Bairstow who single-handedly won the match for England in the last test match to deny India to win the test series in England. He scored 106 and 114 runs in that match and was the second-highest run-scorer in that series.
Gill should have respected Bairstow because his own average in SENA country is 25, which is quite low. He did not even score a single century in a Test Match outside of India, which clearly shows that he does not have the right to mock Bairstow.
