MS Dhoni should now give his spot to someone who is playing to get into International Cricket

MS Dhoni bowled by Harshal Patel

Many MS Dhoni fans will hate it, but now is the time when MS Dhoni should give his place to someone young or more deserving because now he is taking someone else’s opportunity to show his skills on a big stage like the IPL, just like Sourav Ganguly gave him his spot in the batting order. After that, only Dhoni was able to show the world his capabilities because a good player or captain always gives other players a chance as he sees the potential.

IPL had now turned into PR battles of big players like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma, which was recently seen when Virat not been penalized for abusing Rachin Ravindra when he got out in the first match between RCB and CSK but when Harshit Rana did some gesture towards the batter after taking wicket he been penalized by a board which was the right decision but not banning Virat Kohli for his action is something which clearly says that the IPL system stays quiet for the famous cricketers.

In the Rohit Sharma case, everyone hated Hardik Pandya for him to grab the opportunity to be the captain of Mumbai Indians, which he got, which is not the wrong thing to do because, in the last four years, Rohit averaged around just 20 with a strike rate of 152.2 which is just bit higher than Kohli but Kohli averages 45+ still everyone talks about his strike rate which is not right. People need to understand that even in T20 cricket, one player in the top order needs to anchor the innings so it will give freedom to other batters to play their shots.

Why Dhoni Should Give Away His Spot?

In the last match against the Punjab Kings, MS Dhoni had the great opportunity to give his fans a great knock by coming on his usual spot, which is 7th down, when the team was struggling. Still, he did not send Shardul Thakur and Mitchell Santner instead of himself, which was surprising, but there were some rumors that he was a bit injured, which is why he does not want to bat for long or play more than 10 balls. If that was the issue, why did he not opt to stay out from Playing 11 to give someone a new chance like Aravelly Avanish, the backup wicket-keeper for CSK?

If Dhoni wants to play for fans, then he can play in the Legends league just like Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, and many more, but nope, there is a huge reason behind it, which is to stay active in the frame to get more adds to his name. If he still really wants the Indian team to be successful, he should give away his place to someone more deserving who might have a chance to play for India in the future.
