UFC Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will be defending his title for the third time in 2024, and this time, its 8th-ranked contender Khalil Rountree Jr. who got the shot to the title. In recent years, the Brazilian MMA fighter Alex Pereira has become a massive name in combat sports. In his short time in the UFC, he has dominated two divisions and dethroned two champions of two different weight classes. First, he became middleweight champion after defeating Israel Adesanya, ultimately losing the title in the rematch. Then, when he moved to light heavyweight class, he walked through several contenders and defeated champions Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill to get another gold.

At UFC 303, he showed his supreme striking by knocking Jiri Prochazka out cold via a head kick.
