Khalil Rountree Jr. Thinks That UFC 307 Headliner Criticizers Are "Not True Fans"

UFC light heavyweight no. 8 ranked contender Khalil Rountree Jr. is surprised and ready to fight the light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira at the UFC 307. Nobody had expected that Khalil Rountree Jr. would get the shot to the title next as Magomed Ankalaev is ranked higher on the contender’s list, but the latter has to wait to get his chance. MMA fans criticized UFC after the announcement as Ankalaev deserved more to get the shot next than Khalil Rountree Jr. Moreover, he is facing a suspension from USADA after consumption of a banned substance, but UFC has other plans.

Khalil Rountree Jr. who is on a five fight win streak among which 4 came out via knockout is unaffected with the criticism he was facing just for accepting the fight that was offered by the organization and defended himself by saying a wise thing that grabbing such huge opportunity is a wise move and would have done by anyone who is willing to go higher in his career. Khalil Rountree Jr. while speaking to MMA fighting revealed how the whole thing played out.

“I got a call from Hunter [Campbell],” “I was having a bad day that day, dealing with some other stuff, and he was like, ‘Hey, I’ll make your day better, we’ve got this opportunity for you to fight Alex in October.’ It kind of came by surprise, but of course I’m going to accept. That’s the fight I’ve wanted, it’s the fight I’ve been calling for, and I’m excited, I’m happy, I’m grateful.”
Rountree said.

Unaffected by the criticism of the match-up, Rountree is all hyped up and excited to face Alex Pereira at UFC 307 and hit back at those who call this fight a bad one by tagging those as “Not true fans” of MMA.

I understand that people are upset. Whatever. It’s not my problem, for one,” Rountree said. “It’s not my problem. It’s out of my control. They give me the call — OK, I take it. Let them deal with their own problems. Let them talk to the UFC. Whatever fans are not happy about this, I don’t know why. I couldn’t even call them true fans if you’re not happy about this matchup.
He added
