TKR skipper Kieron Pollard, after winning the toss, chose to bowl first; Akeal Hosein was quick to strike and picked up Evin Lewis’ wicket in the first over of the match. Skipper Andre Fletcher and left-handed batter Kyle Mayers didn’t let the TKR bowlers overpower them and started dealing in boundaries. Kyle Mayers played aggressively and held his end to score his fifty; Andre Fletcher supported him from the other end. In the 11th over, Chris Jordan took a marvelous catch to dismiss Mayers. From there, Andre Fletcher took charge and kept scoring runs from his end. He scored 93 runs to take his team to 193 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Jason Roy and Keacy Carty started the chase for Trinbago Knight Riders. Jason Roy started well, but Keacy Carty got dismissed early in the match. Nicholas Pooran didn’t take much time to start his game, and the duo started hitting bowlers all over the park. Jason Roy hit his fifty and got dismissed after scoring 64 runs. There was no stopping Nicholas Pooran as he carried on with his attack and scored 93 runs for his team to take it to a victory by 7 wickets.

“I’m pleased to be honest. People tend to remember the good things. I am happy to put out a good total for the team. Unfortunately we didn’t get over the line. Kyle played well also. I couldn’t have asked for anything better with the ball. But the thing is dropping five catches is not done, especially of a player like Pooran. We have dropped 28 catches this season, and that cost us. We will try to keep the team as close as possible. We had good team bonding. Normally when teams lose there tends to be some bickering, but we never have that.”
