DC vs MI: Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets in the match 13th of the Women’s Premier League 2025.
After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals decided to bowl first, and DC bowlers, after struggling in the initial overs, started putting pressure on Mumbai’s batters. Yastika Bhatia was the first to get out. Hayley Matthews departed soon afterward. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur partnered for a brief, but Jess Jonassen dismissed Harmanpreet Kaur, and from there, Mumbai Indians’ batting order collapsed as no one could stand the bowling attack of Delhi Capitals. At the end of 20 overs, Mumbai Indians posted a total of 123 runs on the board.
Chasing the target of 124 runs, Delhi Capitals got the start they needed as both openers, Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma, put in good runs for the first wicket. Both had a partnership of 85 runs before Shafali Verma got caught on the score of 43 runs. Skipper Meg Lanning continued her innings and batted till her team reached the target of 124 runs. Delhi Capitals won the match by 9 wickets.

WPL 2025, Match 13th: DC vs MI: Captains’ Corner
We wanted to come in and put all three facets together. Have had patches but had not been able to put it together. Our bowlers set it up nicely, we took wickets throughout, which really helps. We got the win tonight, very happy tonight and hopefully we can come back (and do the same tomorrow). We were a touch short in the first over, had to adjust our lengths, Kappie and Shikha did that very well. Then Sutherland coming in through the middle, and shoutout to Minnu Mani – she has been brilliant all tournament.
Meg Lanning(Delhi Capitals’ Captain) said post-match
Today was one of the days where nothing went according to us. We did not put up a decent total and could not hit the good length areas that we had discussed after the break. (On what went wrong with the batting) We struggled to score runs in the first six overs. We got some rhythm in between but could not continue. That (score) was not enough and we were definitely short by 30-40 runs. In the last three games, we did everything right. Tonight, nothing went right.
