The UFC middleweight division is where every MMA fan has his eyes on as the champ, Dricus du Plessis, and one of the most feared fighters, Khamzat Chimaev, are expected to fight next. Adding spice to the fan’s expectations, “The Borz” posted a cryptic tweet from his X handle, which got only two words: “Good News,” seemingly giving fire to the rumors of his fight with the champ Dricus du Plessis. Though UFC hasn’t made any official announcements yet from its side, the fight makes the most sense now as the South African fighter defeated both Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland to defend his title twice, and now “The Borz” wants him.
Earlier, UFC CEO Dana White, during the UFC 314 post-fight conference, said that the potential fight between “The Borz” and “Stillknocks” would be fun. He didn’t reveal whether the fight would happen in the coming months or next year, but his saying that it would be a fun fight made MMA fans speculate that it would happen, but nobody knows that.

UFC welterweight fighter Colby Covington has already given hints of seeing some great fights during the International Fight week in summer 2025 one of which is Khamzat Chimaev vs Dricus du Plessis. The another one which he revealed is a lightweight title bout between Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria while speaking to social media influencer N3on the UFC welterweight said this.
“This summer, International Fight Week. Vegas. I think it’s in the end of June. So like, two months from now. They haven’t announced it but I think it’s Makhachev vs. Topuria…It’s gonna be a sick fight…And they’re talking about maybe putting the co-main as the ’85 title fight between ‘DDP’, Dricus du Plessis, and Khamzat Chimaev.”
