RCB’s new skipper Rajat Patidar after playing some great innings in the initial matches for his team has remained quiet in last few matches and the injury that he sustained in the game against CSK at Chinnaswamy made it difficult for him to bat, the suspension of the league due to India-Pakistan dispute came as a blessing in disguise for the RCB skipper as he took proper rest and did what necessary to recover from the injury meanwhile. As per the latest update, the batter is ready to hit the bowlers in the ground and has started training in the nets. Though he faced challenges during his training as he tested his fingers, he began playing like he does on the field once he got into the flow state.
Rajat Patidar Revealed His Reaction After Getting Selected As Replacement-“I Was Angry”
In a recent RCB Podcast: Bold And Beyond, Rajat Patidar revealed his reaction when he got picked up in IPL 2022 by RCB as a replacement. Being honsest the right-handed batter told that he wasn’t much happy as he thought he won’t get to play for the team and would spent most of his time in the dug-out which he didn’t like.
I had got a message (ahead of the mega auction for IPL 2022) that you should be ready… that we will pick you. I had a little hope that I would get another chance (to play for RCB). But I wasn’t picked in the mega auction. I was a little sad,”
“I (had) started playing in my local matches in Indore (after not getting picked in the auction). Then, I got a call that ‘we are picking you as a replacement for Luvnith Sisodia’, who was injured. To tell you frankly, I didn’t want to come as a replacement because I knew that I wouldn’t get a chance to play there, and I always feel that I don’t want to sit there (in the dugout).
With the team heading towards the playoffs, Rajat Patidar has the responsibility of leading RCB to its maiden title win in 2025.
