Jon Jones To Train In Dagestan Ahead Of Tom Aspinall Fight?

Jon Jones after his fight

Considered one of the greatest martial artists to ever step in the cage, the former light heavyweight champ of the UFC and reigning heavyweight champ Jon Jones is set to take a flight to Dagestan, Russia, to do a training camp with Khabib’s team. The recent few months or probably a year hasn’t been good for the UFC heavyweight champ in terms of the legacy he built after defeating top opponents in his MMA career, as he is labeled as a “Coward” for avoiding the reigning interim heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall. It is almost evident that the reigning heavyweight champ is delaying the fight, and that has been so frustrating for the interim champ and the MMA fans who want to see a unification bout.

A rumor is spreading on social media that Jon Jones is set to train in Dagestan with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team. However, as of now, there are no sources in the public who can say the rumor is true. If it is true, then Khabib and his team must have a conversation with Daniel Cormier before saying yes to Jon Jones to train together. The beef between the reigning champ and Daniel Cormier is world-renowned, and Daniel Cormier shares a deep friendship with Khabib’s team.

The collaboration between one of the greatest martial artists and the Dagestan’s MMA fighters, including Islam Makhachev, is an excellent opportunity for the former lightweight champ to learn the skills required to beat an opponent while moving up in the weight class. Jon Jones did it when he moved up to heavyweight, and as Islam Makhachev is moving up to Welterweight to fight Jack Della Maddalena later this year and the transition to a weight class requires proper training, “Bones” can help him in return, Khabib and his team can sharp the wrestling skills of Jones.

An official update is yet to come from the heavyweight champ.
