Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most exciting forwards in the 2024–25 season, with 18 goals and six assists to his name.
The Brentford star has naturally caught the attention of several top clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United, and even Arsenal. But while the speculation intensifies, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has made it crystal clear: Mbeumo won’t be leaving cheaply.
Brentford’s Stance: “Impossible to Replace”
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has spoken openly about Mbeumo’s future. Acknowledging the club’s identity as a “selling club,” Frank didn’t shy away from addressing the reality of the transfer market, but he warned potential suitors that Mbeumo will come with a hefty price tag.
“He’s impossible to replace in my opinion,” Frank told media. “If the right price, and that’s going to be expensive is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open for it.”
The Danish manager made it clear that while Brentford are not blind to the financial realities of modern football, they value Mbeumo as a key player in their current setup, and any exit would have to be on their terms. The club reportedly values him between £50 million and £60 million, despite having just one year left on his deal, thanks to a contract clause that gives Brentford the option to extend it by another 12 months.

Who Could Replace Mbeumo at Brentford?
If Mbeumo does leave, Brentford will face the challenging task of finding a suitable replacement. While the club has always been smart in the transfer market, replacing a player of Mbeumo’s caliber and influence won’t be easy.
Some possible internal replacements could include:
- Kevin Schade – The German winger has shown flashes of brilliance, but would need to step up massively.
- Yoane Wissa – Already part of the first-team setup, Wissa could shift into a more central attacking role if needed.
- New Signing? – Given the club’s impressive scouting network, Brentford could look abroad for an undervalued but high-potential winger, much like they did with Mbeumo when he arrived from Troyes.
Clubs Circling: Why the Big Interest?
The appeal of Mbeumo lies not just in his stats but in his versatility and consistency. He can play across the front line, has a lethal left foot, and consistently delivers in big matches. His performances this season have seen him outshine even more established names, making him an attractive proposition for top-six clubs looking to refresh their attack.
- Manchester United views him as a versatile addition during its rebuilding phase.
- Liverpool may view him as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah.
- Newcastle United, with European ambitions, could use Mbeumo to bolster their frontline alongside Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.
Bryan Mbeumo’s future remains uncertain, but what’s clear is that Brentford won’t be letting him go without a fight, and a serious transfer fee. As clubs prepare their summer moves, all eyes will be on the Bees’ talisman. Whether he stays or leaves, one thing is certain: Mbeumo’s impact at Brentford will be hard to replace.
