After ending Day 3 of the 3rd test match at Lord’s with a high-voltage drama, where Indian skipper Shubman Gill and Zak Crawley argued as Shubman Gill accused Zak Crawley of deliberately wasting time, England were 2/0 at the end of Day 3 as India scored 387 runs in the first innings, the same as England. Day 4 started with the pitch helping Indian pacers as they were getting extra bounce from the surface. Mohammed Siraj drew the first blood as Ben Duckett got caught by Jasprit Bumrah at mid-on. England lost their first wicket on 22 runs, and then Mohammed Siraj picked up another wicket and dismissed Ollie Pope.

Nitish Reddy picked up the wicket of Zak Crawley. Harry Brook and Joe Root started scoring runs, where the former was batting aggressively, but Akash Deep targeted the stumps and got the reward as England lost Harry Brook on 23 runs. Skipper Ben Stokes and Joe Root increased the lead and took England to 154 runs. The partnership was creating trouble for India, but Washington Sundar broke the defense of Joe Root and shattered the stumps to dismiss the batter on 40 runs, and then the all-rounder dismissed in-form Jamie Smith to down England to just 4 men.

India bowled out England for 192 runs as Washington Sundar scalped 4 wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah got 2 wickets. Mohammed Siraj got 2, Nitish Reddy and Akash Deep got one each. India, while chasing the target of 193 runs on Day 4, didn’t get the start they needed as Yashasvi Jaiswal got out early without scoring a run. Karun Nair and KL Rahul increased the score, but the former, while trying to leave the ball, misjudged it as it hit right on his pads, and Brydon Carse sent him back to the pavilion. Shubman Gill was next to get dismissed. In the final over of Day 4, Ben Stokes picked up the wicket of Akash Deep.

India are now 4 down for 58 and need 135 more runs to win the 3rd test match.
