“He will be out of the game” Rishabh Pant’s Injury Could Rule Him Out For The Rest Of The Series

Rishabh Pant after getting injured during a test match

Indian Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was batting in his own rhythm on Day 1 of the 4th test until a delivery bowled by Chris Woakes hit his right foot, leaving him in agony and pain as the face of the batter told a worrisome story. Rishabh Pant’s right foot was swollen like a balloon, and when the medical team arrived at the crease to assist the batter, it was observed that the foot had started bleeding. The injury left him limping on the field, as he found it difficult to walk, and he was escorted to the pavilion on a golf cart.

After taking him off the field he was rushed to the hospital for scans and as of now nothing is clear what happened but former Australian skipper, Ricky Ponting who worked closely with Rishabh Pant during his IPL days as a coach of Delhi Capitals revealed that the Rishabh Pant’s injury looked like a serious one and that could rule him out of the series.

“He hardly put his foot on the ground. He rolled around for 6-8 minutes before the golf cart came in. The immediate swelling was the worry for me. I’ve had a metatarsal injury myself, and they’re small, fragile bones. “The fact that he couldn’t put any weight on it doesn’t look good at all. If it’s broken, he will be out of the game. If it’s not, then they will do anything they can to get him back out there. Hopefully, he doesn’t play any more reverse sweeps,”

Ricky Ponting said

If Rishabh Pant’s injury turns out to be a serious one, as it looks like, then that would be a problem for the Indian side, as the team is already 1-2 in the series, and losing a player in a do-or-die test will force India to change its strategy, and getting the desired results will be difficult for India.
