It is sad that Vanessa Bryant had to resort to filing a lawsuit against the County of Los Angeles for the appearance of allegedly leaked and circulated photos of her husband and their beloved daughter from the crash site. This caused her mental distress and violated her privacy. Even in this difficult time, it seems that some authorities abused their power as has been stated by the county itself when they opined that it was fair and reasonable to share such images. We can only hope that Vanessa will find solace in knowing that justice has been served and she and her children are able to continue to heal together from the immense loss they faced.
The tragic crash in Calabasas, California was a heartbreaking event that claimed the lives of nine people, including iconic Basketball star Kobe Bryant and his daughter Giann. Being that Bryant had three other daughters aged 7-17, this settlement will provide them with some relief as they each receive $2.5 million in compensation. This settlement also provided recompense to the families of the other victims, who were shamed by circulating images taken at the scene that depicted a lack of sensitivity towards those involved in the accident. However, this agreement brings much-needed justice and answers to both parties in discussion and provides closure to a tragedy so great it left an entire nation mourning.
