The tagline “why should boys have all the fun?” from a commercial may seem like a simple phrase, but it holds a strong message. And now, a video of an all-women football match takes this message to a whole new level. But wait, there’s a catch – the dress code was saree. Yes, you read that right! These women took on the challenge and proved that they are no less than their male counterparts. Their grace and skill on the field, draped in sarees, will leave you amazed. It’s a perfect example of breaking stereotypes and proving that women can achieve anything they set their minds to. So let’s ask ourselves again, why should boys have all the fun?
The latest viral video on Twitter has everyone captivated with its amazing display of athleticism. The clip features women dressed in vibrant orange and green sarees competing in a football game as part of the Goal In Saree tournament. Held over two days at the MLB Ground in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, the event showcased the incredible skill and determination of these fierce competitors. The video captures every moment from swift passes to impressive drifts, all while the crowd cheers them on in the background. It’s no wonder this video has spread like wildfire on Twitter with its incredible display of effort and talent.
Women from various backgrounds, including homemakers and school teachers, recently came together for a tournament organised by social activist Anjali Gupta Batra. The three-day event saw close to 96 participants, all eager to showcase their talents on the court. The tournament was not just about the competition, but also about the sense of community that was built over the three-day practice session. It was inspiring to see women from different walks of life unite for a common goal, and it’s always encouraging to see opportunities like this being created for women in sports.
The second edition of the tournament in Gwalior was a tremendous success, with twice as many teams participating compared to the previous year. Orange and Red teams stood out from the rest as they battled it out for the top honours on Sunday. In the end, it was the Orange team that emerged as the champions, edging out their opponents with a solitary goal. What made this year’s tournament even more special was its theme – “wear saree and stay fit.” With such a unique idea, the response from the players and the audience was overwhelming. The tournament’s success has even attracted the attention of women from other districts who are eager to participate in the future. Overall, the tournament was an excellent showcase of women’s strength, sporting talent, and traditional attire.
