Player profile
Mohamed Salah, also known as Mo Salah, is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liverpool and captains the Egypt national team. He started his senior career in 2010 and played for Al Mokawloon before joining Basel in 2012. He later joined Chelsea in 2014 and was loaned to Fiorentina and Roma before signing permanently with the latter in 2016. In 2017, Salah signed for Liverpool for a club-record transfer fee and has since become a key figure in the club’s success, helping them win numerous titles including the Premier League and Champions League. He has also achieved numerous individual accolades including PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the Premier League Golden Boot. Salah has represented Egypt at the international level, being named CAF African Footballer of the Year and BBC African Footballer of the Year multiple times.
Game style
Salah is rated as a fast, mobile and hard-working player, known for his calm finishing, agility and dribbling skills. He mainly plays as a winger on the right, but can also play as an attacking midfielder or as a second striker. After joining Liverpool, he became a more advanced center forward, often serving as the main striker, which increased his threat in front of goal. Salah started his career as a left-back. But since he joined Liverpool, he has been moved up front due to his passion for scoring goals and tears from missing several obvious chances.
Make an achievement
Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 for a then-club record transfer of £36.9 million. In his first season, he set the record for most Premier League goals scored (32) in a 38-game season and helped Liverpool to the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final. Salah has been an integral player in Liverpool’s Champions League and Premier League title successes over the following two seasons, and has since won the FA Cup and the League Cup. He has received numerous individual accolades, including two PFA Players’ Player of the Year awards, three Premier League Golden Boots, and the Premier League Player of the Season award. Salah is also a key player for the Egyptian national team, having been named CAF African Footballer of the Year twice and BBC African Footballer of the Year twice.
