However, even though Oscar Piastri got the pole position in the Hungarian Grand Prix, it was more like a win by his teammate Lando Norris, who was 3 seconds ahead of him and could have finished the race quite easily. Still, he had to fall back because the team asked him to do it because they wanted Piastri to win his first win.
It was also the first time since the 2021 Monza race that McLaren finished 1-2 in the race, which they did in the Monza Race. At that time, Daniel Riccardo finished first and Lando Second.
