Red Sox Make Bizarre Comeback Thanks to Devers, Chang & Jansen

Despite Boston’s starting rotation allowing the most home runs in the league and their lack of starters pitching longer than five innings, the Red Sox managed to pull off a thrilling win in Game 2 of their series. With the support of a roaring crowd at Fenway, they rallied from behind twice to score nine runs and defeat their opponents. Although starting pitcher Nick Pivetta only lasted four innings, the Red Sox showcased their resilience with key hits and some unusual catcher’s interference. Despite facing tough odds, the team proved that they have what it takes to come out on top.

The first inning of the Red Sox-Yankees game was off to a shaky start, as pitching coach Dave Bush walked out to the mound for a visit with two outs. Many viewers were surprised by this move, considering it was one of five allotted mound visits and seemed like an overreaction to Pivetta’sGio Urshela early struggles. Unfortunately, their skepticism was proven right when Gio Urshela hit a grand slam, only his second in his career, with the first also being against the Red Sox. Things didn’t get much better for Pivetta in the second inning, as he loaded the bases with a hit-by-pitch, walk, and catcher’s interference call. Thankfully, Christian Arroyo’s quick thinking and impressive glove-work, which has placed him in the 88th percentile in Outs Above Average this season, allowed Pivetta to escape the inning unscathed.

Although Angels starter Tyler Anderson struggled on Saturday, the Red Sox had their own rising stars in Rafael DeversYu-Cheng Chang and Yu-Cheng Chang who helped seal their come-from-behind victory. Devers, who hit his second home run in as many days, was instrumental in turning the game around for the Red Sox after falling behind 4-0 in the first inning. His impressive performance helped cut the deficit to 4-2 and kept the team in the game. With seven home runs this season, Devers is tied for the MLB lead and leads the American League – cementing his place as one of the most exciting players to watch this season.

Yu-Cheng Chang had a game to remember on Saturday, with two hits that scored the go-ahead runs, including a homer that landed right at the DraftKings sign atop the Green Monster. His four runs batted in tied a career high from earlier this year. But the game also had some unusual occurrences, including three catcher’s interference calls — something that has happened only 13 times across Major League Baseball this season. Despite these standout moments, the Red Sox are currently struggling, with 11 errors in 15 games, and pitching that has allowed a high number of hits and runs. But for one game, at least, Chang and the team had reasons to celebrate.

It’s been a bumpy ride for the team this season. From losing key players early on, to battling injuries and painful setbacks, the team has faced a series of unexpected challenges. Even with all this on their plate, they’ve managed to maintain a relatively optimistic outlook, despite being at the bottom of their division. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but they know they’re lucky to be where they are. With just a few adjustments and a little luck, they could turn their season around and come out on top. One thing’s for sure, though – they won’t give up without a fight.
