India’s speedster Jasprit Bumrah’s statement on being the “Fittest cricketer” in the team sparked an online debate amongst cricket fans. When asked who the fittest cricketer is, Jasprit Bumrah placed himself above the presumed answer, Virat Kohli. That’s where the internet got divided, claiming how the speedster could call himself the fittest cricketer when he remained out of the team multiple times owing to injuries.
“I know the answer you are searching for, but I would like to say my name because I am a fast bowler. I have been playing for a while…and being a fast bowler and playing in this country in this heat takes a lot of requirements. So I will always promote a fast bowler,”

To settle the ongoing debate and baffled by the criticism that India’s pace spearhead is getting, Ravichandran Ashwin came in defense of Jasprit Bumrah by advising the fans not to compare tipper lorry with a Mercedes Benz and heaps enormous praise for the Indian bowler, calling him “Kohinoor” of the Indian cricket team. Ravichandran Ashwin wants fans to be more lenient towards the speedster and let him express his thoughts in whatever he wants to.
“People will immediately say that how can Bumrah be the fittest cricketer if he got injured. There is a huge difference between a tipper lorry and a Mercedes Benz. The Mercedes Benz needs to be handled with care as its parts are very costly. A tipper lorry will have to travel long distances without rest. A fast bowler is like a tipper lorry. It breaks down sometimes. However, even after so much stress, Bumrah came back and bowled at 145 kmph. Give some credit to him,”
