Australia and South Africa are fighting for the WTC title at Lord’s, England. Australia, the defending champions, were invited to bat first in the final by the South African skipper Temba Bavuma after winning the toss. Is There A Reserve Day For WTC Final?

Reserve day is allocated for the final match if rain plays a spoilsport and takes the game beyond 5 days, but if the time loss due to rain is covered up in the extra sessions allocated, then the reserve day will not be utilized. In case the match ends in 5 days with no conclusion, then both teams will share the mace.

Australia has the opportunity to defend their title, and South Africa has the chance to create history and burst the myth of being called “Chokers” as they constantly failed to grab the opportunity in big tournaments; if Temba Bavuma led lifted the mace in the final, then that will ignite a fire in the South African cricket community and will end the ICC trophy drought. The last time South Africa lifted an ICC title was in 1998 when they won the ICC Knockout tournament, which is now called the Champions Trophy.
