Pakistan’s defeat against Sri Lanka was a setback for the team, as now they are out of the Asia Cup 2023 race. Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam gave an update on Pakistan’s star bowler injury as he got injured during the India-Pakistan clash at the Super 4 stage. Naseem Shah injured his right shoulder during the match, whereas speedster Haris Rauf got a side strain while bowling against India. After the clash, both players didn’t play their next match with Sri Lanka due to the injury, and Pakistan’s bowling department felt the absence of their star bowlers during their vital match against Sri Lanka.

Babar Azam, providing updates on the injuries, said that though Haris Rauf is recovering fast and would be seen in the World Cup 2023, Naseem Shah is not doing that well with his injury, and the chances of him playing in the ICC CWC 2023 are weak. Babar Azam said that he can’t reveal much now but gave a hint that Naseem Shah would be seen in the World Cup 2023 but not in the first few matches as he would take time to recover from his injury.

Naseem Shah also… they have a couple of miss matches, I don’t know (how long) the recovery (is), but in my opinion, Naseem Shah also (will be) in the World Cup later on. But let’s see,

The last date to submit the squad list is September 28th, and thereafter, if any changes need to be made by the team, it has to be updated to the ICC, and changes must be made among the 15 players selected. Pakistan will kickstart their ICC CWC 2023 journey against the Netherlands on October 6th, and they are going to face arch-rivals India on October 14th.
