AW vs SKN Patriots: Amazon Warriors stunned SKN Patriots in the match 21st of the CPL 2024 to won it by 30 runs.
SKN Patriots won the toss and chose to bowl first, and the decision paid off when Ashmead Nedd sent the openers back to the pavilion on ducks. Soon, Shai Hope departed as Amazon Warriors lost 3 wickets in the powerplay. Shimron Hetmyer came to rescue his team from deep waters, started dealing in boundaries, and hit his fifty; meanwhile, wickets kept falling from the other end. Romario Shepherd’s contribution of 34 runs in the lower order helped Amazon Warriors put 137 runs on the board at the end of 30 overs.
Chasing the target of 138 runs, SKN Patriots’ start was decent as Andre Fletcher and Evin Lewis played carefully, but in the last over of the powerplay, skipper Andre Fletcher got trapped by left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie, and from there, batters of SKN patriots didn’t trouble the bowlers much though Evin Lewis kept scoring runs from his end. He didn’t get the support from the other end. In fact, 7 batters of the SKN Patriots couldn’t score more than a single digit. Amazon Warriors bowled out the SKN Patriots with 107 runs in 18.3 overs, winning the match by 30 runs.

CPL 2024, Match 21: AW vs SKN Patriots| Captains’ Corner
It was all about going out there and playing with pride, there is a draft coming up for next year. It was a tricky wicket. Very happy for him (Nedd) coming in and putting that performance. He got assistance as well. I can’t ask for anything more from the bowlers, let down in the fielding. Just that we didn’t play smart cricket today.
Andre Fletcher(SKN patriots Captain) said post-match
We had to adjust to the conditions. The home crowd came and supported. I was the most expensive spinner today but life is all about learning. I also have to adapt to conditions. I was wrong to flight the ball. Great to get over the line. The fight, unity and the trust in each other is the key thing in our team. 150 is a good total. The guy got pissed (On introducing Shamar very late). He worked hard in the nets. He’s very passionate. Really good kid to have around. Proud of him they way he bowled today.
