India’s legendary off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is not happy with the Asia Cup Indian squad, as leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is not going to be part of the Indian team in the Asia Cup 2023, which is going to commence on August 30, 2023. Yuzvendra Chahal has been in and out of the team as the bowler didn’t get the chance to play a single match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, though he was in the selected squad for the event. This time he didn’t even get selected in the continental event, and that’s what Harbhajan Singh was disappointed about, and in his YouTube video he expressed his opinion on the Asia Cup squad.
“The one thing I feel is lacking in the team is the absence of Yuzvendra Chahal. A leg-spinner who can get the ball to turn away. If you talk about genuine spinner, I don’t think there’s any spinner in India better than Chahal in white-ball formats. Yes, his last few games weren’t good, but that doesn’t make him a bad bowler,”

Talking about Yuzvendra Chahal, who didn’t have some good matches recently against the West Indies as the leg spinner leaked runs and was not that effective with the ball, he accepted that there are hiccups in a bowler’s career but that doesn’t make one a bad bowler and is really hopeful that he will be in the team during the ICC World Cup 2023 as the big event is scheduled to happen in India and Chahal has a good record in Indian conditions.
I think his presence in the team was necessary. I hope the doors aren’t closed to him. It’s important to consider him for the World Cup because the tournament is in India. Chahal is a proven match-winner. I can understand his form isn’t good, so you may have rested him. But I think if he was with the team, his confidence would’ve stayed intact. Any player who comes back after being dropped, the pressure to perform is always there,
