Harbhajan Singh lauds MS Dhoni for shaping Matheesha Pathirana

Harbhajan Singh lauded MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo for training Pathirana well. The Sri Lankan pacer with an unorthodox action (Matheesha Pathirana), who is playing for Chennai Super Kings under legendary players guidance such as MS Dhoni and CSK’s bowling coach Dwayne Bravo, is in frequent discussion these days due to his performance in the IPL so far. The young lad has so far played nine matches in the IPL and not only took crucial wickets at the right time but also played the role of a run blocker for the opponent team. His action is quite similar to that of former Sri Lankan pacer and yorker specialist Lasith Malinga, who is currently serving as a bowling coach for the Rajasthan Royals.

Former Indian cricketer and legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh recently lauded MS Dhoni and the bowling coach of CSK, Dwayne Bravo, for shaping the young pacer Matheesha Pathirana and utilizing him correctly. Praising Dhoni’s captaincy skills on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, he said:

“Pathirana has been utilised brilliantly by MS Dhoni. He chokes the flow of runs from his end. It is very difficult to pick up a bowler with his unique action. CSK bowling coach Dwyane Bravo has guided him well and the youngster is performing Bravo’s role for CSK.”

Chennai Super Kings have so far managed to win seven matches in the 13 matches they have played in the IPL, but their do-or-die match will be against Delhi Capitals, who won their last match against Punjab Kings and now want to continue their winning path, though they are already out of the playoffs. They can ruin the CSK’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs. CSK need to win their last league match to seal their spot in the playoffs of the IPL 2023.
