Before the Australia-India ODI series, critics were questioning the inclusion of Surya Kumar Yadav in the ODI’s, as the batter had a bad record in the ODIs. Though he was batting extremely well in the T20Is, his poor form in the ODIs was a stain on his decorated record, but Surya proved that he can play in the ODIs like he does in the T20 matches by scoring two back-to-back fifties in the first and second ODI matches against Australia. His second fifty was a special one as the audience saw Surya’s avatar that they had been waiting for. He scored an unbeaten 72 runs in 37 balls to put 399 runs on the board.
