“He will win you the tournament”- Harbhajan Singh Big Claim On This Indian Batter Before World Cup 2023

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh showed confidence in Surya Kumar Yadav's batting abilities.

The 43-year-old veteran cricketer Harbhajan Singh has again declared that it will be Surya Kumar Yadav who could be one of the game changers for India in this year’s ODI World Cup. He claimed that Surya Kumar Yadav will be an X-factor for the Indian team, and he has the potential to not just win the match but also the tournament for India. Indian selectors showed a lot of confidence in him despite his not-that-impressive form in ODIs, but as far as his performance in the last ODI series against Australia is concerned, the decision to choose him in the World Cup squad looks good, as Surya scored two fifties in the three ODI matches he played, gaining praise from his teammates and cricket enthusiasts.

According to Harbhajan Singh, the right-handed batter, he would have preferred Surya Kumar Yadav after the captain if he were leading the team management.

Looking forward to Suryakumar Yadav. He is an X-factor. If he gets going, he won’t just win you the match, but he will win you the tournament. If I were a selector, I would have SKY as the second player in my team after the captain. Hardik Pandya is as good as anyone when it comes to hitting the ball and playing the normal game. I would play SKY if I were part of the team management. Who knows if they will play him or not?”

Harbhajan Singh, Comparing Surya Kumar Yadav To AB De Villiers, Said This:

No doubt Surya Kumar Yadav is a special player as he has the ability to hit balls out of the park in a way only he can do, and Harbhajan Singh, noticing his ability to hit such shots, compared Surya to South African great AB De Villiers (Mr. 360). Apart from Surya, he brought up the name of the rising star of Indian cricket, Shubman Gill, and said that he has the ability to do something incredible in the 2023 World Cup.

I don’t know what it is about him (Suryakumar Yadav). Today, I would be frightened bowling to him but not when I was at my peak. He reminds me of AB de Villiers. We need a player like him to play. Even if flops, I would still play him for the remaining matches. And another player I want to speak about is Shubman Gill; he has the chance to do something when he could be remembered forever,
