“I know he is going to hear this and will come hard at me” Hardik Pandya on Nicholas Pooran
India fought back hard in the 3rd T20I of the five-match series, registering their first victory in the series after Surya Kumar Yadav and Tilak Varma’s brilliant performances in the match. Sky scored runs all over the park, announcing his return to form. He scored 83 runs in just 44 balls from the other side. Tilak Varma, who has been in brilliant form since his debut in international cricket, scored 49 runs in the match. Later, Hardik Pandya finished the match with a six, and now the series score is 2-1. Post-match, India’s T20 captain Hardik Pandya shared the tactics that the team used against Nicholas Pooran during the match that helped them win it.
Hardik Pandya faced a lot of heat after India lost the second T20I against West Indies and was heavily criticized for his captaincy in the matches, especially during the second T20I when he gave bowling to the pacers rather than Yuzvendra Chahal, whose over nearly changed the course of the match as three wickets were fallen in one over of him, but after giving ball to pacers West Indies’ tailenders hit them for boundaries due to which India lost the match by two wickets. Hardik Pandya definitely made a comeback by registering a win in the series and shared the strategy they planned to stop Nicholas Pooran.
“Very important (to win). We spoke as a group that these three games will be exciting. Two losses or two wins does not change the long term plans. We have to show we are ready when it comes to such (must-win) games.”
“Nicky (Pooran) didn’t come out to bat and that allowed us to keep our pacers back, also allowed Axar to bowl his four overs. If Nicky wants to hit, let him hit me and that was the plan, I enjoy such competition. I know he is going to hear this and will come hard at me in the fourth T20I,”
