There have been some exceptional performances by the bowlers over the years at the Cricket’s biggest stage, and one of the most remarkable milestones a bowler achieves in his career is a hat trick. A Hattrick is an achievement in the game of Cricket where the bowler picks three wickets in three deliveries during his/her bowling spell. There have been only nine instances in the T20 World Cup(2007-2024) where the bowlers achieved this feat, and here are the names of those bowlers who have picked up a hattrick in the T20 World Cups from 2007 to 2024.

Brett Lee: The Australian bowler was the first bowler in the T20 World Cup to claim a hat trick. Australian speedster set the record for taking the first hat trick in a T20 World Cup match against Bangladesh in 2007. In the 17th over of the innings, Brett Lee dismissed three Bangladeshi players to become the first to pick up a hattrick in a T20I and the T20 World Cup.

Curtis Campher: After a long time, Irish all-rounder Curtis Campher became the second player to pick up a hattrick in a T20 World Cup match. In fact, he was the first Irish player to take a hattrick in a T20I. Curtis Campher went one step ahead of the Australian speedster Brett Lee and picked up a double hattrick in the T20 World Cup 2021 by dismissing four Netherlands batters in four balls.

Wanindu Hasaranga: Sri Lanka’s spinner comes third in this list with his hattrick against South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2021. It was in the 15th over’s last ball where he dismissed Aiden Markram, and then in the first two deliveries of the 18th over, he dismissed two more to become the first Sri Lankan player to pick up a hat trick in a T20 World Cup.

Kagiso Rabada: South African pacer Kagiso Rabada comes at number 4 on this list. The Right-arm pacer picked up three wickets in three deliveries in a thrilling T20 World Cup 2021 match against England when the latter needed 14 runs in the last over to win. Kagiso Rabada picked three in the first three deliveries to seal a 10-run victory for his team.

Karthik Meiyappan: UAE’s leg spinner Karthik Meiyappan becomes the first UAE bowler to pick up a hattrick in a T20 World Cup match. It was against Sri Lanka during the T20 World Cup 2022, where the leg-spinner trapped three Sri Lanka players in the 15th over of the game. Even after his brilliant performance with the ball, Sri Lanka posted 158 runs on the board and won the match by 79 runs.

Joshua Little: Another Irish player who has registered his name in this list is the left-arm bowler Joshua Little. The Irish bowler picked up his first-ever T20 World Cup hattrick against New Zealand. In the 19th innings, he dismissed three New Zealand players to restrict the opponents to a score of 185 runs. New Zealand won that match by 35 runs.

Pat Cummins: The Australian bowling all-rounder created history in the T20 World Cup by becoming the first player to take two hattricks in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. In the latest T20 World Cup 2024, the speedster picked up his first-ever T20 World Cup hat trick against Bangladesh, and then in the Super-8 clash against Afghanistan, he claimed his second T20 World Cup hat trick.

Chris Jordan: In the T20 World Cup 2024, England’s Chris Jordan was the only other bowler after Pat Cummins to pick up a hat trick in the tournament. In the match against co-host USA, Chris Jordan, who was bowling the 19th over of the game, picked up the first wicket in the first delivery. The next delivery was a dot ball, followed by three continuous wickets. He became the first-ever England cricketer to get a hat trick in the T20 World Cup.
