After ending Day 4 on a dominating note by taking four wickets of the Indian team on the score of 58, England bowlers didn’t take much time to take the 5th wicket. Jofra Archer bowled at good length and troubled the already injured Rishabh Pant, and used the pace to break the defense of the wicket-keeper batter to send him back to the pavilion. India lost a batter early on Day 5, and that brought Ravindra Jadeja to the crease. KL Rahul was scoring runs from his end, but his innings ended when Ben Stokes got the delivery back into the wicket from outside off to catch the batter in front of the wicket.

KL Rahul got out after scoring 39 runs for his team. Jofra Archer picked an absolute blinder when Washington Sundar tried to deflect the ball to the leg side, and it just flew towards Jofra Archer as the bowler caught it one-handed, being on the follow-through of his action. India were down to just three men as Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Reddy held their ends for long. Nitish Reddy got out just before lunch after scoring 13 runs for his team.

Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah were on the wicket and both gave a tough time to the bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah defended the deliveries well. Jasprit Bumrah fell for the trap as a short ball worked, and he lofted it into the air to get caught. Ravindra Jadeja was fighting from his end and scored his fifty. He was the last hope of the Indian side, and Mohammed Siraj from the other end defended well to take his team beyond the tea break as India was 30 runs behind.

After the tea break, both partners chased down the chase to just 22 runs, but Shoaib Bashir’s flighted delivery, though defended by Siraj well, found its way to the stumps as India were bowled out for 170 runs.
