Aiden Markram Leads South Africa Squad Against India: Squad Revealed

Aiden Markram is set to lead both the T20 and ODI South Africa Squad in Bavuma’s absence. The series will commence on December 10, with three T20 matches in Durban, Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), and Johannesburg.

T20 Squad:

ODI Squad:

  • Players: Ottniel Baartman, Nandre Burger, Tony de Zorzi, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Mihlali Mpongwana, David Miller, Wiaan Mulder, Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen, Kyle Verreynne, and Lizaad Williams.

Test Squad:

  • Captain: Temba Bavuma
  • Players: David Bedingham, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Tony de Zorzi, Dean Elgar, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Wiaan Mulder, Lungi Ngidi, Keegan Petersen, Kagiso Rabada, Tristan Stubbs, and Kyle Verreynne.

Notable exclusions from the white-ball series include Kagiso Rabada, Gerald Coetzee, Lungi Ngidi, and Marco Jansen, who have been rested for the limited-overs games to focus on domestic four-day cricket and be prepared for the Test matches.

Quinton de Kock, who retired from ODIs after the World Cup, will skip the T20 series but is available for T20s and will play for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League (BBL). New faces in the squads include David Bedingham, Tristan Stubbs, and Nandre Burger, with recalls for Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder.

The Test series between South Africa and India is scheduled to begin on December 26 in Pretoria, followed by the second Test on January 3 at Newlands in Cape Town.
