Michael Hussey named Kohli and Rohit as key players in WTC final 2023

Australia’s legendary cricketer, famously known as Mr. Cricket (Michael Hussey), recently talked to the ICC ahead of the WTC final 2023, which will happen at the Oval, England, between India and Australia. The final will start on June 7 and end on June 11 if weather conditions allow so. Michael Hussey, ahead of the WTC final, picked some of the key players of the Indian team that could be very impactful during the match. He picked Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as key players from the Indian side for the WTC final in 2023. Virat Kohli returned to his form again, but Rohit Sharma is still finding his form. There is no question regarding Rohit Sharma’s class.

Michael Hussey when asked to pick the key players from the Indian side he said:

“He (Kohli) is obviously coming back into some great form again in all forms of the game really, so both he and Rohit Sharma with the bat are going to be important for India.”

Coming to the bowlers and who will prevail in bowling (spinners or pacers) Michael Hussey said that:

It is going to be played in England, so English conditions will be different to the recent series in India, so I think the fast bowlers are going to be important,” Hussey noted.

“Pat Cummins (is a key for Australia) and Josh Hazlewood might be fit again which would be nice for Australia.

“But India have got so many great bowlers as well. You’ve got (Mohammed) Siraj and (Mohammed) Shami and obviously the spinners with (Ravindra) Jadeja and (Ravichandran) Ashwin as well.

Virat Kohli and some other players have left for England to assess the country’s pitch conditions, while some selected players like Ajinkya Rahane, Shubhman Gill, and Mohammed Shami will leave for England after May 30, 2023.
