Five-time IPL trophy lifters, CSK, haven’t qualified for the IPL playoffs for the second consecutive season, and this time they didn’t end up in the top 5 like last season and stand at the bottom of the table. Though CSK started the season with a win over Mumbai Indians but after that a series of losses and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury made MS Dhoni to lead the side as a captain but that didn’t lead to an improved situation as the franchise is at the verge of ending its season being at the bottom of the points table which will be the first time in the IPL history that CSK would be at that rank.
CSK fans and Netizens burst their anger on the veteran MS Dhoni after the franchise’s last match defeat against the Rajasthan Royals and advised him to call it a career.

Though all the failures of the franchise can’t be put on the shoulders of the “Captain Cool,” as it is a team game, and everyone needs to chip in to win a match. If we look at CSK’s squad, it has names like Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Dewald Brevis, and many Indian veterans, yet they find it difficult to get the best out of them during this season. The opening pair is a headache for the CSK as multiple changes in the opening duo and the failure to get the start, except in a few matches, made the rest of the batters hold the responsibility of scoring runs.
MS Dhoni, known as one of the best finishers in this game, couldn’t get that rhythm this time, though in 13 matches, he scored 196 runs with a strike rate of 135.17. CSK failed to win in some close matches.
