To mourn the heinous Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed the lives of more than 25 people, the IPL management has decided that the team players of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians will play with black armbands on their shoulders. Apart from that, there will not be any cheerleaders on the ground, and no fireworks will be there to announce solidarity with the deceased and their families and to condemn the cowardly attack on the tourists.
The players of two teams will wear black armbands and observe a minute’s silence in memory of all those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam. As a mark of respect there would be no cheerleaders on the sidelines of MI vs SRH game. No crackers will be burst,”
BCCI source told PTI
Terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, on Tuesday, which led to the deaths of 26 people. PM Modi cut short his Saudi Arabia visit to return to India and immediately chaired a meeting with high-ranked officials of the defense forces and National security advisor Ajit Doval to discuss the J&K terrorist attack.
The Resistance Front, an off-shoot of Pakistan-backed Lashkar-E-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for this inhumane terrorist attack.
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians will clash at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium today. The home team doesn’t have a good season so far, with only 2 wins in the 8 matches played. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have 4 wins on their side and would be looking to increase their lead in the points table. Hardik Pandya led MI to win three consecutive matches and would carry confidence with them at the venue. Considering the team’s performance so far, it will be a challenge for SRH to defeat them.
