New Zealand won the 2nd T20I in a rain-interrupted match against Pakistan to win it by 5 wickets
After winning the toss, New Zealand’s captain, Michael Bracewell, decided to bowl first, and the fast bowlers started doing their work as Jacob Duffy dismissed Hasan Nawaz on a duck in the first over of the match. Skipper Salman Agha and Mohammad Haris partnered briefly, but Ben Sears put an end to the latter’s innings. Pakistan kept losing wickets from one end as skipper Agha was reaching closer to his fifty, but he couldn’t as Ben Sears picked up his wicket. Shaheen Shah Afridi hit vital runs in the end to take his team to 135 runs in 15 overs.
Chasing the target of 136 runs, New Zealand’s openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen provided the start to the team. Both took the score to 66 runs in just 4.3 overs, but after scoring 45 runs, Tim Seifert got out. Finn Allen was picking up the momentum and hit 2 consecutive sixes to Jahandad Khan, but the bowler dismissed the right-handed batter in the same over. Though Pakistan’s bowlers tried to make a comeback and picked some wickets, New Zealand batters reached the target in 13.1 overs to win the match by 5 wickets.

PAK vs NZ, 2nd T20I: Captains’ Corner
It was freezing (out there), but it was a good game. It was a better game than the last game, a lot of positives, but obviously, a few work to do. I think we’ve batted a bit better within this game, but it would still need to be a better finish as well, fielding was outstanding, and bowling in patches was good, but we need to be a bit more consistent. As soon as we need to understand that the bounce is different when we adjust that bounce. I think we will be a better team. After Powerplay we bowled really well.
Salman Agha(Pakistan Captain) said post-match
“The bowling was extraordinary, first of all. The guys bowling into the wind today bowled particularly well and kept them to a score which we’re pretty happy with. That’s definitely an assessment during the game. That probably goes away from the instincts of the death bowlers a little bit, not using the yorkers and things like that. But the wicket’s been undercover for a day or so, and it’s offering a little bit of extra bounce, we have to make sure that we use it, so we just try to use the wicket today and I thought the death bowlers bowled really well today.
