“So much of Shai Hope” Ravichandran Ashwin Compared India’s U19 Star With The West Indies’ Player

Ravichandran Ashwin praised India's U19 batter Sachin Dhas for his exceptional innings in the U19 semi-finals match.

India’s U19 team has defeated the host South African U19 team in a nail-biting semi-final match to enter the finals of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024. The win for the young guns didn’t come easily as while chasing the target of 245 runs against South Africa, they lost four wickets on a score of 33 on the board. The task to reach the target in the limited overs left was huge, and that’s where the match-saving partnership of U19 captain Uday Saharan and right-handed batter Sachin Dhas for the fifth wicket kept the hopes of the team alive. Though both batters couldn’t complete their hundreds, their record-breaking partnership ensured India’s victory in the match.

Sachin Dhas scored 96 runs during the match, and no doubt his innings proved a match-saving one. His calm nature during the stressful situation made India’s spinner Ravichandran Ashwin praise the right-handed batter. Ashwin compared India’s rising star with the West Indian elegant batter Shai Hope, who has been a vital pillar of the West Indian batting line-up.

India has entered the finals of the game, and it will be either Australia or Pakistan that India will face in the final of the World Cup. Australia U19 and Pakistan U19 both performed exceptionally well in the tournament, and it would be a spectacle to see the clash between these two teams. The final of the U19 cricket World Cup will happen on February 11th, 2024, and the five-time world champion will be looking to defeat their opponents, whoever they might be. Australia U19 and Pakistan U19 will clash tomorrow.
