The continental event of cricket, Asia Cup 2023, is going to start on August 30th, and six teams will be seen fighting for the Asia Cup title. India has also announced the squad, which doesn’t include some big names like Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. India is going to battle with only one full-time spinner, Kuldeep Yadav. Though there are all-rounders like Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja who both do spin bowling, apart from Kuldeep Yadav, there is no one in the Indian squad who is a full-time bowler, and the decision to not go with a strong spin bowling attack in the Asia Cup was questioned by several former cricketers and fans.
India’s captain Rohit Sharma, while speaking to the news agency PTI, said that after a lot of discussion with the selectors, the squad was selected and there was no personal bias towards anyone; the players were picked based on their performances, and those who were not selected in the squad must be for a reason. Rohit Sharma also revealed that they discussed and explained the reasons behind not selecting some players; they had a face-to-face conversation with them.
While picking the best combination, there will be guys who will miss out for various reasons and Rahul bhai (Dravid) and I have tried our best to explain to the players why they are not in the squad. We have tried to communicate with the players after every selection and playing XI that has been announced. We talk to them face to face, one-on-one why they have not been picked,

He added that he and anyone else don’t have any personal issues with the players, and dropping someone is not his personal decision.
It’s not like, I don’t like this person, so I am dropping him. Captaincy is not based on personal likes and dislikes. If anyone misses out, there is a reason for it. If you are the unlucky one, we can do nothing.
He added
India is going to start its Asia Cup journey on September 2 against archrivals Pakistan.
