MICT vs PC: MI Cape Town defeated Pretoria Capitals by 27 runs in the 27th match of the SA20 league to climb up in the points table.
Pretoria Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton opened for MICT and scored good runs for the first wicket. In 4 overs, both batters posted 45 runs on the board, and then in the 5th, Rogers picked up the first wicket for his team by dismissing Ryan Rickelton on 22 runs. In the 7th over, Rassie van der Dussen got out, but that didn’t change the aggressive approach of Hendricks, who kept scoring runs from his end. Dewald Brevis showed his power hitting during the match as the duo didn’t let any bowler get over them and hit their fifties to take their team’s total to 222 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Chasing the massive target of 223 runs, MICT started well with Steve Stolk taking on the bowlers from the first over, but he couldn’t score beyond 13 runs. Will Jacks kept scoring runs from his end, and he got the support of Will Smeed as both batters took their team’s score to 87 runs. Will Jacks got caught at long-on on the score of 39 runs. Smeed scored his fifty, but Brevis removed him on 51 runs. Pretoria Capitals were losing wickets. Keagan Lion-Cachet fought for some time, but his 34 runs were in vain, as the home team lost the match by 27 runs.

SA20, Match 27th, 2025: MICT vs PC: Captains’ Corner
So happy with the way we played. Especially having those couple of tough years and then coming back and the way everyone played was pleasing. We had couple of changes to have those players rested. It’s not like a miracle happened and we went to the top of the table. We’ve put in a lot of hard work. We just think about bringing our best game to the middle, be it a dead rubber or any other game.
Rashid Khan(MICT’ Captain) said post-match
I don’t know how much we fell short there. 30 odd? I think if you look with the ball, you can find 15-16, and then with the bat as well. Batted nicely in parts but just didn’t find the rhythm. Key wickets at key times left us short. I think it was a good wicket and I think we had a chance – just didn’t pull it off. Our first five games came in 8-9 days or something like that. If you don’t get off to a good start, it’s tough to bring that back.
