SA20, Qualifier 1, 2025: MICT vs PR: Captains’ Corner
A great feeling, especially after finishing at the bottom in the first two seasons. The way we played in the group stage was brilliant and then the first qualifier. Everyone’s taking the responsibility, which impresses me so much, that under pressure everyone’s performing so well. In this format, you need a good start. The way Rassie and Rickelton started allowed us to build on that start. They have been outstanding in the last couple of years but we were missing somewhere. With the ball, we have been doing a great job.
Rashid Khan(MICT Captain) said post-match
We started a little bit on the back foot. Ricks and Rassie came out batting very well in the powerplay. A couple of extras cost us – two fives wides and a couple of no-balls. It’s never nice a bowler coming off but we have plenty of bowlers to cover up. We need to regroup. We have had three losses but it takes one game to turn it around. [On Royals’ batting order] There are a few methods behind everything. We have got a database and we run it through that. But we lost a few wickets tonight but that happens when you are chasing 200.
