South Africa vs India, 4th T20I: India, riding on Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma’s tons, clinch the 4th and final T20I and the series against South Africa by 3-1.
After losing the toss three times in a row, India won it this time and elected to bat first. After getting two consecutive ducks, Sanju Samson finally figured out where he was going wrong and gave the strike to Abhishek Sharma, who South Africa dropped in the first over. The duo started punishing the bowlers and hit 73 runs inside powerplay, but Abhishek Sharma, while trying to deposit another one into the stands, got caught behind the wicket as India lost its first wicket. Now, Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson took charge and launched a ruthless attack on the bowlers from both ends. At the end of 10 overs, India were 129/1, with Sanju Samson scoring his fifty. There was no stopping the two as both scored their second hundred of the series. India ended with 283/1 at the end of 20 overs.
Chasing the huge target of 284 runs, South Africa had the worst start possible as opener Reeza Hendricks got bowled by Arshdeep Singh in the first over of the chase, and in the next over, Ryan Rickelton got out in the 3rd over, skipper Aiden Markram and Klaasen got out as South Africa was 10/4 at the end of 3 overs. David Miller and Tristan Stubbs handled South Africa’s innings briefly, but Varun Chakravarthy got rid of David Miller as half of the Proteas side was in the dug-out. It was just a matter of time as India bowled out their opponent for 148 runs in 18.2 overs, winning the match by 135 runs.

South Africa vs India, 4th T20I: Captains’ Corner
There is no secret to adapting to the conditions and situations. Our plans were very clear. Last time when we came here, we played the same brand of cricket and wanted to continue that. The game today, we spoke about it and we wanted to follow those good habits. Didn’t think about the results and it happened automatically. (On their batting) It is very difficult for me to choose between the two. It was amazing batting skills displayed by them (Abhishek, Sanju and Tilak). We spoke about it and they walked the talk. (On their bowling) We knew there is something definitely in the wicket after the lights come on and the temperature drops. We just followed that, stuck to our lines and the result was right in front of us

Quite hard (to sum up today). Completely outplayed in all three aspects. We wanted to level the series but could not put a game together. With bat and ball, they put us under pressure. Some good honest reflections need to take place now. (On the extras they gave away) Nowadays, you can’t just be hitting the stumps. You have to use the wide lines. I suppose you are happy with one or two but we wanted to get better at execution, and keep moving in the right direction (as a team). Maybe not 15 wides, just two or three. Hopefully in the long run, moving towards 2026, we can get that right. (How they pick themselves up) I suppose, as a white-ball team, we will have a good reflection and can get stuck into some work, and come back better players, with better skills and with better execution.
