Ashes 2023, no doubt entertained the cricket fans around the world as both England and Australia put on a show in the 5 match test series which ended up as a tie 2-2 the whole Ashes season was full of controversies and at last it ended with yet another controversy as both teams didn’t have the ceremonial drinks after the Ashes series it didn’t take Australian media long to start throwing jabs on England cricket team for their arrogant behaviour as reportedly they refused to had the drinks with the Kangaroos after the Ashes series.

Putting an end to the controversy Australia’s left-handed batter Travis Head recently in a podcast revealed that Australia team did knock the doors of the England’s team for the drinks but even after waiting for an hour England team didn’t show up which he acknowledged that they didn’t do it on purpose and it happened only because of the mismatch in timings as there were pre-organized plans of the England team ,there were some members of the England’s team management that were going to retire on that day.

Though the England cricket board clarified the reason behind the drinks miss, Travis Head confirmed that it did happen, plus he clarified that the event of meeting in the nightclub after the match was more of a coincidence than a pre-planned one, as stated by England’s captain Ben Stokes.

In terms of it, it’s been played up a little bit. Post-match, I think we hung around for a little bit. They had a couple of retirements and I think a few staff that was going. We sort of knocked a couple of times and got told two minutes, which turned into an hour and the boys got a bit fed up,

But yeah, a few of the boys met up with them afterwards and I’ve been in contact with a couple of the guys that I was close with about the differences in the timing. A bit disappointing, but yeah I don’t think it was by design,”
