Max Verstappen once again dominated both sessions of the day, finishing pole in the first sprint race of the season at Shanghai track and pole position in the Chinese GP. However, Fernando Alonso and Hamilton had a great day.

As soon as lights went out for the race, Lewis Hamilton pushed his throttle with a perfect shift and got ahead of race leader Lando Norris, who tried to keep his place but went off the track in the 1st turn, making him lose the six spot and put him at the 7th place.
It was the first time this season that Hamilton led the race, but it did not last long, as Max Verstappen kept on gaining and was in third place. Still, he was not happy with his battery, so he asked on the radio why it was flat. When the technical team told him to use mode eight, it worked for him, and he was able to pass through Alonso to second place using the DRS in the seventh lap.
At the start of the 8th lap, Hamilton told his technical team that the F1 car was not turning well at a slow speed, which made Max take the pole position in the 9th lap. On the other hand, the two Ferarri drivers, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, were fighting for the 4th place, but in the end, it was Leclerc who finished the race in 4th place ahead of his teammate Sainz, and Norris finished fifth.
Red Bull Racing drivers Max and Sergio Perez got the chance to stand on the sprint podium, coming 1 and 3, respectively, but it was Lewis Hamilton who separated both of them to take the second position on the Podium.
