Did Indian Coach Igor Stimac pay 11 Lakhs to an Astrologer to select his team?

Igor Stimac in media interview

In a shocking revelation, a report claimed that the coach of the Indian football team, Igor Stimac, had paid lakhs of rupees to an astrologer for selecting the playing 11 for the matches.

The report, published by a leading sports website, cited unnamed sources who alleged that the coach of the Indian Football Team, Igor Stimac, had consulted the astrologer before every game and followed his advice on which players to field and which formation to use. The report also claimed that the coach had paid the astrologer a hefty sum of money for his services, which amounted to several lakhs over the course of his tenure.

In recent years, especially in 2023, the Indian Football Team played quite amazingly, winning three titles, including the Tri-Nation Series and the Intercontinental Cup. They also won the 2023 SAFF Championship title, which was quite a huge achievement for them. Indian teams are qualified to play in the Asian Games, which is going to happen in China.

The report has sparked outrage among the fans and the football fraternity, who have demanded an investigation into the matter and strict action against the coach and the astrologer.

Some have also called for a revamp of the Indian football system, which has been plagued by corruption, nepotism, and lack of transparency. The report has also cast a shadow over the future of Indian football, which is struggling to make a mark on the global stage.

Recently, the Indian Football team, who have been thriving for the last 3-4 months, failed to register a win in the King’s Cup as they lost to Iran in Penalties and also against Lebanon by 2-0 in the third-place match. However, the team showed amazing play against the giants Iran and was unlucky against them as the Referee made a bad decision against India, which led to a goal.
