The Olympics is one of the most prestigious sports events for every national sport, and it is so for football, which is the world’s most popular sport, but fans do not really watch football in the Olympics with the complete focus as they do in other competition like FIFA World Cup and Euros.
The first time football was included in the Olympics was in the same nation, Paris, in 1900, in which Great Britain won the Gold Medal. In the 2024 Paris Olympics, every team was going to look to win the Gold Medal. However, there are some different rules applied in Olympic football as every team can only have 3-4 players above the 23 age, and the rest of the squad should be under 23, which is why it is called a U-23 football competition.
Men’s Olympic Football Winners
In the last Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, Brazil won the back-to-back gold as they did in the Rio Olympics. Spain won the gold in the final against France in an amazing match which ended in 5-3 in the extra time.
