Sergio Busquets will leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season

The FC Barcelona homeboy Sergio Busquets will leave the team at the end of the season after Xavi failed to keep him in the club, and he might go to the MLS league, or there might be a chance to move English Premier League because there has been some speculation about the Chelsea F.C transfer rumors going around. He is a defensive Midfield player for Barcelona FC.

Sergio Busquets has been with Barcelona since 2008, and after 15 years of giving everything to the club, he will leave the club. However, FC Barcelona offered him 1 year of the contract, but Sergio Busquets wanted to explore a new league, and also, the wages that Barcelona offered to him were not much compared to what he is getting from the other teams.

Busquets played 719 matches for FC Barcelona and scored 18 goals for them. He also has 45 assists under his name and played in different positions for the Barcelona team. He played 656 matches as a Defensive Midfield, 29 as Central Midfield, and 21 as Centre-Back. He also played International 143 matches for Spain and scored 2 goals.

When Spanish media asked Xavi about Sergio Busquet’s future in Barcelona and if Lionel Messi will return to the club.

“The most important thing is that Busquets is calm and helps us until the end of the season.

“I don’t think his decision will depend on whether Messi comes or not. It’s difficult to choose the path, it happened to me.”

There is also a rumor that Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets will join Al-Hilal in the Saudi Arabia league. Sergio Busquets posted a video on social media in which he said.

“it has been an honour, a draw and a source of pride to have been able to wear this badge but everything must come to an end.” The midfielder also admits “it has been an easy decision but the time has come,” before thanking “all those people who have accompanied me on this journey, as well as the members and fans.”

It is going to be an amazing farewell for Busquets as F.C. Barcelona is already a La Liga champion in season 2023. He will likely play his last match at Camp Nou on May 28th, 2023, and his last match for FC Barcelona on the 4th of June, 2023, when they will lift their 27th La Liga title.
