There are 8 F1 Drivers who also participated in the Olympics, and one of them won four gold medals and two silver medals. It is quite interesting to know that the F1 driver also competed in the high profile other sports and at the Olympic level.
The only F1 Driver who won the medal is Alex Zanardi, who started 41 F1 races in his Formula One World Championship Career but was able to get just one point in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Alex Zanardi won four gold medals and two silver medals, but the Paralympics presented a tougher challenge for the athlete.
Zanardi got injured in 2001 when he was racing in a CART Race where he collided with another vehicle which caused him to havely on the legs and therefore he had to amputate both legs. He did not give up and started training for Handcycling which helped him to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics in which he won two gold medals in Road Time Trial (H4) and Road Race (H4). He also won silver in the Road Team Relay in that Olympics.
Later in the 2016 Reo de Janeiro Olympics, he won another two gold medals and one silver in almost the same category of Handcyling except for one which came in Mixed Team Relay (H2-5).
