Chelsea has been very active in the summer 2024/2025 transfer market as they signed their 7th player of the summer after introducing new goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, who joins the blue from the Villarreal team.
Chelsea FC has already signed six other new players, including Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Of these six, only Dewsbury-Hall and Tosin are over 22 years old, which clearly shows the Chelsea club’s intent to invest only in young players.

After singing, Filip Jorgensen, the average age of the Chelsea squad is 22.9, which is quite young compared to other big clubs like Manchester United and City, which have an average squad age of around 25+.
Filip Jorgensen joined Chelse, especially because of his idol, Petr Cech, a legend of the Chelsea football club. Chelsea paid £21m for the 22-year-old young goalkeeper, who is currently the seventh goalkeeper in the squad. It is just another surprise that Chelsea even signed a goalkeeper when they have Kepa, Petrovic, and Sanchez in their squad.
Chelsea brings in every young player who has great potential so that later on, they can sell them to other big clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, and many more clubs. In the last ten seasons, Chelsea had the most income from transfers in the English club category, as they got €1.37B from selling and loaning their players.
For every Chelsea FC fan, it is not good news that the club is turning into a feeder club known for signing young players. After the player’s market value increases as he performs better, they sell the player to the big clubs for great profits, which Chelsea has been doing for the last two years. That’s why they initiated the project to sign young, talented players.
