Why is Mauricio Pochettino the Right Manger for the struggling Chelsea’s new season?
Chelsea FC announced Mauricio Pochettino as the new manager for the next two seasons after confirming the two-year deal, which will last unit 2025. However, being a Chelsea club manager never give you security even if you win 2 back to back Premier League Title or UEFA Champions League because the board of Chelsea is ruthless, and they want titles every season from the manager. If the manager fails to do it, then they sack him no matter how close he is with the club.
Pochettino will once again be going to manage another English Premier League club after a long time. In the past, he was the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, the arch-rival of Chelsea. He was their manager for 6 seasons and managed 293 games, in which he gave a lot of joy to the fans. He led the team to the Champions League final and kept the team in 2-4 place in the Premier League under his spell, which is an amazing feat by any manager. In the 2019/2020 season, he was sacked by the club, and since then, they have been searching for the perfect manager for Tottenham Hotspur.
On January 2, 2021, Pochettino became the manager of the biggest club in France, Paris Saint-Germain, by signing an 18-month contract replacing Thomas Tuchel, who later became the Chelsea FC manager and won the Champions League with them. Paris finished 2nd in League 1 and just achieved only one trophy, Coupe de France, in his first season, but in the 2nd season, PSG won the League 1 title, and on July 5th, 2022, Pochettino agreed with the termination of the contract.
On May 29, 2023, Chelsea announced that Pochettino would be appointed as the head coach of the team, and from July 1st, 2023, he will take charge of the role. His amazing attacking tactics can benefit the Chelsea club, but he will need backing from all the players who had the worst season in the premier league finishing 12 in the English Premier League, the lowest they have been since the year 2000.
Pochettino also confirmed that he needs to sign a goalkeeper and a midfielder, but for the center forward, he might be happy with Christopher Nkunku, who already signed with a pre-contract in the January window and will join Chelsea in the summer.
