After two weeks of rumors about the UFC 303 main event featuring Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler’s potential cancellation, the UFC has confirmed the same. Fight fans who were waiting to see the return of Conor McGregor got the heartbreak. In fact, Michael Chandler, who was waiting to get this fight after two years of inactivity, is saddened by the announcement. Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka came as saviors of the card, and both accepted the fight where Alex Pereira would defend his light heavyweight belt against Jiri Prochazka. The replaced main event is not as big as the Conor vs Chandler one but stands up to its hype.
In the last fight, Alex Pereira got the better of Jiri Prochazka to claim the light heavyweight title, but critics didn’t score the fight as a one-sided win and called it an early stoppage by the referee. Since then, a rematch has been on the line. Fans would get to see one this soon, which wasn’t expected. Nonetheless, now both fighters have 14 days till the fight, and whether Alex will get his hand raised again or Prochazka will get his revenge will be seen on June 29th.
