Israel Adesanya vs Sean Strickland confirmed for UFC 293.

Israel Adesanya

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, after Dricus du Plessis pulled out of UFC 293 in Sydney, Australia, is set to fight Sean Strickland at UFC 293 in Sydney, Australia. It was earlier decided that the middleweight champion and Dricus du Plessis would fight in September after the latter’s stunning victory over Robert Whittaker at UFC 290, where Dricus knocked out Whittaker in the second round. Israel and Dricus after the fight had an intense face-off inside the octagon, which was a good fight build-up, but unfortunately, the fight won’t be happening soon, and now the last Stylebender would be seen opposite “Tarzan”.

Israel Adesanya, after his famous win over Alex Periera at UFC 287, became the middleweight champion. Since then, he hasn’t stepped in the Octagon for a fight, but on September 9th, he is going to defend his title against Strickland, who in his last fight knocked out Abus Magomedov in round 2. Both fighters recently exchanged some heated words on social media. Strickland on his Twitter handle mentioned the short notice thing and how eager he is to fight with Adesanya.

Sean fight this good guy on a 2 day notice. “Sure”… Sean fight this guy we want to be the next big name in the top 5 if he beats you. “Sure”… Sean we might have you fly across the world on a 5 week notice to fight the Chinese Champion. “Sure”…. LMAO………”

Sean Strickland tweeted

Israel Adesanya hit back with a reply to Strickland and said that they are both fighting on short notice and he is no special in such scenarios.

Lol “5 weeks”. You been training since your last fight. We both fighting on short notice, you’re not doing nothing special, you dirty c**t.

Israel Adesanya replied

Both fighters are training hard to be in great shape for their fight day on September 9.
