UFC 288 Pre-fight Press Conference: “I can’t wait to smash another legend” Aljamain Sterling
UFC 288 is around the corner, and the main event is going to happen between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo on May 7, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. IST on Sunday. Aljamin Sterling is the current UFC bantamweight champion who defended his title against T.J. Dillashow at UFC 280 and is now ready to take on the former two-divisional UFC champion Henry Cejudo.
In the pre-fight press conference, both fighters threw word bombs at each other. Henry Cejudo, who proudly proclaims himself as the “King of Cringe,” returned to the UFC following his retirement in 2020, and Aljamin Sterling appreciated that he at least took the fight seriously and showed up.
Now 36 years old, Henry Cejudo looked confident and prepared for the words thrown at him by Aljamain Sterling. Post-press conference, he brought some of the stuffed pillows that have the faces of Aljamain Sterling, Sean O’Malley, and Alexander Volkanovski and kicked them into the crowd.
During the press conference, Aljamain, who was looking in great shape, tried to be calm and respectful, but as we know, it happens in UFC press conferences. A short time later, both of them started the war of words and started taunting each other about their careers so far. Aljamain Sterling even went on to say that he would make Cejudo quit the UFC again in their main event.
There are other events as well that are scheduled for UFC 288 and the co-main event will be one of the most interesting ones as Gilbert Burns will take on Belal Muhammad for the welterweight bout, and the one who manages to win the fight, which is going to be of 5 rounds, will become the number one contender for the welterweight championship.
